ENOUGH ALREADY!  Every one of the 24-hour news channels is currently running LIVE coverage of some Anna Nicole Smith hearing, probably to determine what her natural bra size was.

 

Honestly people, I'm sorry Anna Nicole died.  But people die every day and they don't get the 40 days and 40 nights of round-the-clock coverage that this B-list "celebrity" is getting.

 

Her primary contributions to society seem to have been a tabloid existance, a reality show and a life so chaotic that nobody's really sure who the father of her kid was.

 

Is this such a slow news time that we have nothing else to talk about but this circus?  We don't have any wars to talk about?  Nothing is happening in the business world?  Iran is quiet and peaceful?  Or are Americans just so pathetic that we have to escape into these pitiful freak shows?

A good trashbag is worth a mil...

 

I'm not terribly dainty with trash bags and I *HATE* a trashbag that rips and comes apart.  When you're shopping for trashbags pay attention to a number other than the price.  It's called the "mil" and it tells you how thick the plastic of the bag is.  Anything under about .5 I wouldn't use for much.  I prefer, especially for kitchen trash and other large trash needs, at least 1.0 mil.

 

For the big trash bags I will often use the Lawn & Leaf bags you can get at Home Depot.  Those are usually nearly 1.5 mil and you can toss almost anything in them without breaking them.
